Heritage Park is a small Kirkland pocket park at the end of a public street with a handful of parking spaces. The street continues, but is signed as 'Private'. There is a small grassy area and a gently sloped sand/dirt entryway to the water which has 4-6cm rocks-very uncomfortable. This required lying down in 10cm deep water and pulling out to deeper water to make it easy on one's feet. If you do this be careful about the barely submerged larger rocks that are present. The park has homes on each side, so look backward before leaving on your swim so you'll be able to identify your exit location upon return. There are private docks extending out from the shore in both directions; we swam north as far as Kiwanis Park and the water was shallow enough that we could see the bottom all the time except when we swam farther out to avoid the men fishing at Waverly Park.
